Piano H88 does not collect any personal data, and has no account, sign-in, advertising, analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
Your settings, your best scores and practice diary, and the pieces, recordings and exports you create are saved on your device — in the system's standard preferences store and inside the app's own folder (visible in the Files app). They stay on your device. They are not sent to us and we cannot read them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Used only when you turn on a feature that needs it. Recording the microphone into a take is processed and saved on your device and never leaves it. The experimental “play by whistling or humming” mode analyses the microphone on your device to detect pitch, and is not recorded or sent anywhere. Voice commands and voice typing use Apple's built-in speech recognition (the Speech framework); depending on your device and settings Apple may process that audio on its servers to turn it into text, under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive your audio, we do not store it, and we act only on the recognized words.
The sheet-music scanner (beta) can read a printed score from the camera or a photo you choose. The image is processed on your device to detect notes; it is not uploaded.
Piano Link connects two devices side by side into one keyboard using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity over the local network (and Bluetooth). It is peer-to-peer — there is no server and no account, and nothing leaves your local network.
The app works fully offline. The only time it reaches the internet is when you open the “About this piece” page, which fetches a plain-text description of the piece and composer from Wikipedia, and when you tap a link to our website. No identifier is sent; a request to Wikipedia carries only the piece or composer name being looked up, subject to Wikipedia's own privacy policy.
Because nothing is collected, nothing is collected from children.
If this policy changes, the new version will appear at this address with a new date.
